I have a friend looking for an Interim Controller to step in immediately. Remote engagement, ~20 hrs/week initially, flexing up at the beginning of the year as they prep for an audit. Must-haves: technical accounting depth (estimates, judgments, software capitalization and audit adjustments); revenue recognition experience is critical (software and SaaS, deferred revenue, contracts); CPA or equivalent; hands-on controller experience in a small to mid-size company; has supported an external audit; NetSuite experience and strong month-end close discipline; player-coach comfort with a small team and limited documentation; can start by 10/26 at the latest and commit about 30–40 hours per week throughout the engagement. Audit support experience: PBC lists, workpapers, tick-and-tie and audit adjustments; can prepare workpapers independently. NetSuite reporting (saved searches, GL detail, trial balance) and strong Excel. Comfortable with fixed assets, capitalization of software development costs and accruals; can read a policy and rebuild a calculation. Self-directed and organized; can start within days and prioritize across audit, close and capitalization work. Nice-to-haves: software or technology and PE-backed experience; board or sponsor reporting; NetSuite; prior work with CLA or HQ Exchange; labor-cost reclass or payroll allocation experience.
