A hands-on Accounting / Payroll / HR Specialist role in Norfolk, VA with a free family healthcare plan, at an employee-owned company. This position combines Payroll, Human Resources and Accounts Payable responsibilities. Payroll: weekly payroll processing, time verification, direct deposits, tax and benefit deposits, payroll reconciliations and federal/state reporting. Human Resources: employee files, onboarding/offboarding, benefits enrollment, 401(k), FSA/DCA administration and benefit-provider relationships. Accounts Payable: invoice processing, subcontractor invoices and retainage, job costing, budgets, lien waivers, certified payroll, credit cards and job-costing transactions. Preferred experience: Payroll and AP; Sage 300 CRE payroll, AP and job costing; Procore job financial management; government-contract accounting. Requirements: 5–10 years of relevant experience; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and organisational abilities; high accuracy and confidentiality; Microsoft Office proficiency.
